Mrs. Angela Johnson

6th-8th Grade Counselor, A-D

I am excited to be a part of the middle school counseling team at ALCA! I am passionate about supporting my students and families to foster growth both academically and interpersonally and to initiate planning for postsecondary options.

I firmly believe that every students’ success begins with effective collaboration of the student, the school, the family, and the community, in helping each student recognize then realize his or her greatest potential!

I look forward to working with you this school year and learning how I can effectively support you throughout your journey at ALCA!

Mrs. Elizabeth Yancey

6th-8th Grade Counselor, E-J

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Mathematics Education as well as my Master’s in School Counseling from Auburn University. My husband and I have two precious daughters, one dog, and one cat. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling (especially to National Parks!) and spending time outdoors. You can usually find me with my family in our garden, on a trail, or on the boat!

I have been a school counselor in the state of Alabama since 2022, and I am thrilled to be a part of Alabama Connections Academy for the first time this year.

I cannot wait to get to know each of you!

Mr. Thomas Young

6th-8th Grade Counselor, K-Q

Being a member of the middle school counseling team at ALCA excites me greatly. Athens State University is where I earned a bachelor’s degree in social science, and the University of North Alabama is where I earned a master’s degree in counseling. I began my ALCA career in 2025 after 26 years of employment at Limestone County Schools.

With our two daughters away pursuing their careers, my wife and I are empty nesters. We enjoy traveling and have a wonderful dog named Coco. I’m an FSU fan (GO NOLES!), but my wife is an Alabama fan.

I’m excited to work with you this school year. If I can be of any assistance to you, please contact me.

Mrs. Tori Sloan

6th-8th Grade Counselor, R-Z

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Auburn University in Secondary Mathematics Education. While teaching, I went on to receive my Masters of Education in School Counseling. I have now been in education for 11 years and have truly enjoyed every second of it.

My little family consists of my husband, Joseph, our two little ones, and our three dogs. We enjoy spending time outdoors, travelling, going to t-ball games, and watching ballet recitals.

I began working at Alabama Connections Academy in 2020 and have loved serving our students and families virtually! Please reach out to me with any questions or if you just want to chat. I love to talk!
