Mrs. Andrea Folks

KG & 5th Grade School Counselor

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science from Armstrong State University. I earned my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Alabama State University. I also earned a Master’s Degree of Education in School Counseling from The University of West Alabama.

I am married with two wonderful boys. In my spare time I enjoy creating recipes for my family, reading, and traveling.

I have been in the field of education over 18 years in the state of Alabama. I have been serving as a School Counselor here at ALCA since 2021. I am excited to continue with the team here at ALCA. I look forward to providing guidance to the students and families of ALCA!

Mrs. Lauren Dickie

1st & 4th Grade School Counselor

 I have a Masters degree in School Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I hold an NBCC license in Alabama and Mississippi.

As a school counselor it is my mission to support all students. My goal is to support the unique needs of each student with
consideration of not only possible educational challenges, but family, social and community challenges as well. As a school counselor, it is my privilege to create an environment where all students belong and have access to the education they deserve.

This is my first year as a school counselor at ALCA and my fourth year as a school counselor.

Mrs. Candance Shipp

2nd & 3rd Grade School Counselor

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from The University of Alabama (Roll Tide!). I earned my Master’s Degree in School Counseling from The University of West Alabama. I also earned a Master’s Degree in Christian Education with a concentration in Children’s Ministry and Social Work from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

I am married with four amazing children (two girls and two boys). In my spare time I love to cheer way too loud at my children’s sporting events, play whiffle ball with my family in our yard, hang out on our farm, travel with our family (we LOVE Disney!), and craft.

I have been in the field of education over 15 years in the state of Alabama. This is my 8th year as a school counselor, but my first year as a School Counselor at ALCA. I am so excited to work with the team here and I can’t wait to provide encouragement, guidance and support to the families of ALCA!
